The 19-year-old was shot in the head and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, and the 15-year-old was shot in the stomach and taken to Comer Children's Hospital, police said. Both were listed in critical condition. Area One detectives are investigating, and police released no suspect information and no account of what led to the shooting.
Hours earlier, on the Northwest Side, a 35-year-old man was shot and killed during a fight inside an Albany Park home, police said. The shooting happened at about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 4800 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, where police said the man got into an argument with another man he knew; after the argument turned into a physical altercation, the other man pulled out a gun and shot him in the head.
The 35-year-old was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The suspect was arrested and police recovered the firearm. Police have not released the name of the victim or the suspect, and details from officials are still coming in both investigations.
