The Blackhawks Go Green Tonight: The Hometown Remix Jersey Debuts Against Colorado at the United Center
Chicago's new special-edition uniform — a vivid green base with gold shoulder patches and the city flag's six-pointed stars on the sleeves — gets the first of six outings this season, on a night that also marks 50 years of the 'I Will' motto.

The Chicago Blackhawks will look different tonight. The club, the NHL and Fanatics unveiled Chicago's Hometown Remix uniform on Monday morning, and the green special-edition sweater makes its on-ice debut tonight against the Colorado Avalanche at the United Center, the first of six times Chicago will wear it this season.
The design, as the team describes it, puts the current Blackhawks logo on a vivid green base with gold shoulder patches, and each sleeve carries four debossed six-pointed stars — a nod to the Chicago city flag and the meaning of each star. The stated theme is progress: 2026 marks 50 years since the Blackhawks carried the 'I Will the Spirit of Chicago' motto on their home jersey, a motto the release ties to the city's World's Fairs and its history of ambition and resilience. Green is also, as every Chicagoan knows, the color of the river every St. Patrick's Day — a fan-favorite color the release says is finally making its appearance on the ice in a game, something Patrick Kane never did during his first Chicago run from 2007 to 2023.
Chicago's captain liked the look. 'A little early St. Patty's,' Connor Bedard said in the league's reaction coverage. 'I think they look nice.' The remaining five dates are December 29 against Vegas, March 8 against Tampa Bay, March 10 against Washington, March 14 against Anaheim and March 16 against San Jose — all of them at home.
The collection went on sale Monday at the team's online shop, the league shop, Fanatics and Blackhawks team stores; the published prices run $225 for the blank Premium jersey and $525 for the on-ice Authentic Pro version. (The picture with this story is a plain generic green practice jersey, not the actual Hometown Remix design — the real sweater is the team's to show.) On the ice, the debut comes without defenseman Bowen Byram, who remains unready to return, as this desk reported earlier today.
