Chicago Weather: A Mild Election Day Near 68 With a Small Rain Chance, Then Wednesday Soaks the City
Tuesday's forecast holds kind for voters — 68 degrees and only a 31% rain chance — before the week's real weather arrives Wednesday, when the rain chance jumps to 88% and highs fall back into the 50s.
Chicago heads into Election Day with the kind of November weather that gives nobody an excuse. Monday evening sits overcast at 57.2 degrees, and Tuesday tops out at 68.3 degrees with a low of 57.7 and only a 31% chance of rain, according to the station's live Open-Meteo feed — mild, mostly dry, and comfortable for a walk to the polls at any hour they are open.
The week's real weather arrives a day later. Wednesday brings the soaking: a high of 64.5 degrees, a low of 56.5, and an 88% chance of rain, the wettest day of the seven-day outlook by a wide margin. Anyone with outdoor plans this week should treat Tuesday as the window and Wednesday as the washout.
Behind the rain, the air turns properly November. Thursday manages 56.6 degrees with a 14% rain chance, Friday falls to 50.9 with the rain chance back up to 38%, and the weekend runs cool and mostly dry — 51.4 on Saturday and 56.5 on Sunday, with small rain chances both days.
The bottom line for voters is reassuring: no weather excuse on Tuesday. The bottom line for everyone else is that Wednesday is the day to plan around.
