Blackhawks' 2-0 Lead Is Gone: Colorado Leads 3-2 Late in the Second Period at the United Center
Wyatt Kaiser and Roman Kantserov scored on two of Chicago's first three shots. Colorado answered twice before the first intermission and once more in the second, and the green-jersey debut night turned into a chase.

For one period at the United Center, the Chicago Blackhawks' green-jersey debut night went exactly to script. Late in the second period, it had slipped away: Colorado leads Chicago 3-2, after the Avalanche erased a 2-0 deficit with two goals before the first intermission and a third in the second period, according to the live scoring feeds.
The start was as fast as it was opportunistic. Wyatt Kaiser's shot deflected off Cale Makar's stick and in — Kaiser's second goal of the season — and moments later Chicago had a second goal on its third shot of the night: Nazem Kadri turned the puck over near his own blue line, Connor Bedard fed Roman Kantserov on the 2-on-1, and the 22-year-old buried the one-timer. Kantserov came into the night with five goals through 14 games.
Colorado's answer came in a rush late in the first period — two goals roughly two minutes apart pulled the Avalanche level at 2-2 by the intermission — and the visitors edged ahead in the second. For a Chicago team that came in 4-9-1 and 31st in the league, the shape of the night is a familiar frustration: a start worth protecting, gone before the third period.
Twenty minutes remain for the Blackhawks to salvage the debut of the Hometown Remix green set they unveiled Monday morning. The third period decides whether the night is remembered for the fast start or the fade.
