Grant Park trades Halloween costumes for running shoes on Sunday morning. The SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run Chicago, presented by Ghirardelli, runs Sunday, November 1, at Grant Park, 301 S. Columbus Drive, with the 5K, 10K and 15K all starting at 7:30 a.m., according to the organizer. A 2-mile walk follows at approximately 9:15 a.m., and gear check opens 60 minutes before the start.

The Loop Chicago weekend advisory lists the event from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Grant Park, with a course that starts near the Art Institute of Chicago, heads south along the lakefront and downtown streets past landmarks including Soldier Field and the Field Museum, and finishes near Buckingham Fountain. Drivers should expect road closures and delays around the course on Sunday morning.

Finishers cross into the event’s signature post-race party in Grant Park, with live music, vendors and a finisher’s mug filled with chocolate fondue, dippables and hot cocoa, according to the organizer. Runners can also enroll in live tracking so friends and family can follow them on the course.
