John Washington III Urges Voters to Watch What Politicians Do and Ask How Officials Grow Wealthy in Office
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, asked why people keep following politicians who he said do not care about them, urged voters to check voting records instead of promises, and argued that public officials should never be above financial scrutiny.

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, is asking why voters keep following politicians who, in his words, do not care about them. “Why do people keep following politicians who don’t give a damn about them?” he wrote. “Why do you continue supporting politicians who talk like they love the people, but their actions tell a completely different story?”
John Washington III wrote that politicians promise change and claim to fight for families, then vote differently when decisions are made. “Stop listening to what they say and start paying attention to what they do,” he wrote, asking why people continue defending politicians without even checking their voting records, and why some politicians campaign on one thing and then vote for something completely different.
John Washington III then turned to officials’ wealth. “How do some politicians become millionaires while holding public office?” he wrote, noting that most members of Congress receive an annual salary of $174,000. “Where is all the additional money coming from?” he wrote. “Is it investments? Is it businesses? Is it inheritance? Or are there financial relationships and payments that the public doesn’t know about?”
John Washington III wrote that having millions of dollars does not automatically mean somebody committed a crime, but argued that officials must face scrutiny. “Being a public official should never put you above financial scrutiny,” he wrote. He wrote that members of Congress already have public financial disclosure requirements, and asked why the American people should not examine those records: “Who is paying you? Who are you doing business with? Who benefits financially from your decisions? And are you using public office to serve the people or to enrich yourself?”
John Washington III closed the portion of his post on the record by calling for investigation and accountability where illegal payments are proven. “Any politician who is secretly accepting illegal payments in exchange for political favors should be investigated,” he wrote. “If the evidence proves corruption, they should be held accountable. Because that is not public service.”
