Chicago Weather: Election Day Showers at 64 Percent, Then Wednesday Shapes Up as the Wettest Day of the Week
Sunday and Monday hold mild and mostly dry in the low 60s, Election Day turns showery with a high near 68 - and the station feed now puts Wednesday's rain chance at 70 percent, the highest of the week, before a cooler end to the week.

Chicago starts Sunday overcast and mild. The station's weather feed read 51.4 degrees early Sunday, on the way to a high of 61.8 with only a 21 percent chance of precipitation. Monday looks much the same: a high of 60.1, a low of 52.8 and a 21 percent rain chance - a quiet final day of early voting.
Election Day is when the pattern turns. Tuesday's high reaches 68.4 with a low of 59.9, and the chance of precipitation climbs to 64 percent, so voters heading to the polls on November 3 should expect showers in the mix through the day.
The wettest day of the week now looks like the day after the election. Wednesday carries a 70 percent chance of precipitation - the highest figure in the seven-day feed - with a high of 66.3 and a low of 59.6, as the feed's rain code takes over the middle of the week.
Behind the rain, the week cools down. Thursday's high falls to 59.6 with the rain chance back down to 26 percent, Friday reaches 56.9, and Saturday tops out at 52.2 with only an 8 percent chance of precipitation - the driest and coolest day in the outlook.
