Lions vs Vikings Score: Detroit Hands Minnesota Its First Loss, 19-15 — and the Bears Wake Up Tied for Second
Detroit beat Minnesota 19-15 at Ford Field on Sunday behind 153 rushing yards from Jahmyr Gibbs, dropping the Vikings to 6-1. The Lions improved to 5-2 — the same record the Bears carry into Monday night at Seattle — while Minnesota's linebacker-thin defense lost Jack Campbell to a neck injury evaluation.

The last unbeaten team in the NFL has fallen. Detroit beat Minnesota 19-15 at Ford Field on Sunday, a result Chicago fans watched closely: the Vikings slipped to 6-1, and the Lions improved to 5-2 — the same record the Bears take into their Monday night game at Seattle.
Jahmyr Gibbs carried Detroit, running for 153 yards on 23 carries, plus two catches for 15 yards. His 30-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter put the Lions ahead, and after Minnesota answered in the fourth — Kyler Murray hitting Jordan Addison for 51 yards on the way to an 8-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Hockenson — Jared Goff found Jameson Williams for the go-ahead 7-yard touchdown with 4:35 left. Goff finished 18-of-25 for 176 yards with a touchdown and an interception; Murray went 17-of-29 for 210 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and Justin Jefferson was held to five catches for 33 yards and a touchdown on nine targets.
The win came at a cost for Detroit. Linebacker Jack Campbell was taken off the field immobilized on a backboard in the second half and transported to a local hospital to evaluate a neck injury, the most concerning of several injuries to the Lions' defense. Detroit, winners of consecutive divisional games, plays at Miami in Week 9; Minnesota, now 6-1, hosts Buffalo on Monday night next week. For Chicago, the math is simple: a win in Seattle on Monday night keeps the Bears level with Detroit and a game behind Minnesota in the North.
