Eight People Hospitalized After a Three-Vehicle Crash in Back of the Yards, Police Say (Chicago Windy City News)

Eight people were taken to hospitals after a three-vehicle crash in Back of the Yards a little after midnight on Sunday, Chicago police said. Officers responded to the 5400 block of South Ashland Avenue, where, according to police, a Dodge SUV traveling northbound failed to stop at a traffic signal and collided with a Chevy truck and a Ford sedan.

All six people inside the SUV were taken to area hospitals and listed in fair condition, police said. Two occupants of the Chevy truck were also hospitalized, in serious condition. The only person in the Ford sedan refused medical services at the scene. No one was killed in the crash as police have reported it.

Police said it was unclear who was driving the SUV, and whether any citations would be issued had not been announced. Authorities had not released any further details about the circumstances of the crash, and this story will be updated if the department releases more. The account above is the Chicago Police Department's, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago and ABC7 Chicago; the desk reports only what police have confirmed.
