Chicago Weather Overnight Update: A Cloudy, Mild Monday Near 60, Then Election Day Warms to 70 With Rain Likely
The station's live feed puts Monday's high at about 60 with only an 8 percent rain chance — but Tuesday turns warmer and wetter, with rain chances near 70 percent on Election Day and above 80 percent Wednesday.

Chicago starts Monday mild and quiet. The station's own live weather feed (Open-Meteo) read 53.3 degrees and clear in the overnight hours, and it puts Monday's high at 59.5 degrees with a low of 52.9 and only an 8 percent precipitation chance under light-drizzle code conditions — a grey, workable day for the last day of early voting and three Chicago home-and-away game slates.
Election Day is the change. The feed puts Tuesday's high at 70.3 degrees with a low of 59.1 and a 69 percent precipitation chance under overcast skies, and Wednesday wetter still — a high of 62.4, a low of 52.3 and an 84 percent chance of rain showers. Voters heading out Tuesday should expect a warm but unsettled day and take the rain chance seriously in the afternoon and evening.
The rest of the week cools down behind the rain: Thursday 53.5 degrees with a 14 percent rain chance, Friday 51.7 and 16 percent, Saturday 53 and 10 percent, and Sunday 50.9 with a 21 percent chance. On the lake, Weather.com's Chicago page carries a minor Small Craft Advisory from Monday at 6 p.m. until Wednesday at 6 a.m.; sunset Monday is 4:43 p.m. now that standard time is back.
